FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oshkosh man with an extensive history of drug-related convictions was arrested again after a traffic stop in Fond du Lac County.
It happened last week when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled a vehicle over for speeding on I-41. The driver, a 35-year-old man from Oshkosh, was on probation for the manufacture/delivery of cocaine. Two juveniles were also in the vehicle.
After the deputy spotted drug paraphernalia “in plain sight” he conducted a vehicle search and located five ounces of crack cocaine, a jar of marijuana and a “significant amount” of cash. The driver was also determined to be under the influence.
He was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of THC 2nd+ offense, contributing to neglect of child-exposure to drugs and OWI 1st offense with an enhancer for having a passenger under 16.
The juvenile passengers were released to the custody of a responsible adult.
“Suspected drug trafficking, operating while intoxicated, and children in the vehicle were a combination ripe for tragedy,” reads a post from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. “Great work by our deputy who identified these risks and removed the children from this dangerous situation!”
