FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Daniel Enright was sentenced to three years in prison for setting a series of fires in Fond du Lac County.
Enright, 40, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of intentionally setting fire to someone else’s land, and two counts of arson of property other than a building. Three other counts were dismissed. The charges stem from fires between March 2020 and April 2022.
Judge Anthony Nehls also placed Enright on extended supervision for three years, then to probation for two years. Enright was also ordered to pay $1097.50 in restitution to the DNR’s Northern Kettle Moraine Unit, and must continue treatment for pyromania, according to court records from Friday’s hearing.
According to the criminal complaint, Enright admitted lighting the fires.
“He lit fires to relieve stress and some of his stress started with the birth of his child three years ago,” prosecutors say in the document.
The fires were lit in marshy and grassy areas.
The complaint does not say what led investigators to Enright.
