APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Children’s Wisconsin is celebrating its 1st anniversary of the Appleton Clinic. The clinic is dedicated to the treatment of kids and teens with all staff specially trained in pediatric care.
The Milwaukee-based hospital system has had a presence in Fox Valley for over 20 years but this is its first clinic dedicated to children in the northeast and central Wisconsin areas.
Since opening, the clinic has registered nearly 30,000 appointments offering new and expanded specialty care including lab services and imaging under one roof. The 50,000+ square foot, state-of-the-art clinic highlights the following features:
- Specialty care in 26 different specialties
- Onsite lab services that were previously outsourced
- Imaging, also previously outsourced, is available onsite using lowest radiation possible
- Children’s only clinic to have stress test capabilities
- Go Baby Go! Chapter with a partnership with Fox Valley Technical College
- 3,000 square-foot therapy gym is used for physical, occupational and speech therapies, equipped with a sensory room, fort and climbing area and adaptive tricycles
Children’s Wisconsin says having these offerings under one roof saves families countless time away from work, school and other commitments. Many families used to have to travel to the Milwaukee hospital for the care. Some appointments are only 15 minutes long but families would have to set aside the whole day- time away from work, school and other commitments so opening the clinic has eased that burden significantly for many families.
