KESHENA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Keshena man has been indicted for aggravated assault and domestic violence offenses on the Menominee Reservation.
Arrelio Escalante, 36, was charged with one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and one count of domestic assault by strangulation.
According to court documents, on or about Feb. 8, Escalante is accused of assaulting a woman with whom he had a domestic relationship.
… by punching her, attempting to strangle her, and strangling her to the point of unconsciousness. The woman suffered serious bodily injuries including severe bruising and a broken nose as a result of the assault, which occurred at a residence on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
If convicted on both counts, Escalante faces up to 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
