The Wisconsin Badgers got back on track Tuesday night, beating the Maryland Terrapins 74-70 at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin had dropped five of their last six games and that dropped them out of both the AP and the Coaches Top 25 poll this week. The Badgers got right by getting to the free throw line and cashing in. Four of Wisconsin’s five starters hit double figures with Tyler Wahl leading the way with 18 points, Max Klesmit had 16, Chucky Hepburn 11 and A.J. Storr with 10. The Badgers build a nine point lead by intermission and led throughout the second half. Maryland made a late run but Wisconsin knocked down 28 of 31 free throws (92.8%) to hold them off. Klesmit was 8 for 8 and his two from the charity stripe with just over a second left gave Wisconsin it’s final 4 point margin. The Badgers improved to 18-9 on the year, 10-6 in the Big Ten, good for third place. Wisconsin will be off until next Tuesday night when they travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers.
