Dr. Claude Tiller Jr.
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The day after resigning as the superintendent of the Green Bay Area Public School District, more information in being released about Claude Tiller’s future.
Tiller is currently not planning legal action against the district, according to an official with Jenkins & Associates LLC – the agency that helped release Tiller’s resignation statement.
“His immediate focus will shift to returning to his home in Michigan, where he intends to spend quality time with his family,” writes the Jenkins & Associates official.
Tiller will begin looking at his next steps “in contributing to student achievement, by evaluating several opportunities to further his impactful work.”
Green Bay’s school board accepted Tiller’s resignation unanimously Saturday after he was put on paid leave earlier in the week following an investigation into comments he made on an Atlanta radio show during a teacher recruitment trip.
The private attorney representing the school district in the matter says a video recording of Tiller’s comments will be released at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, following state law for open records requests.
Tiller released a statement a few hours after the school board accepted his resignation, saying it was a very difficult decision that was made with mixed emotions.
“Let us continue to champion the values of equity, inclusivity, and excellence in education, nurturing environments where every child can thrive,” writes Tiller. “I leave with a heart full of gratitude, hopeful for the district’s continued success and the bright futures awaiting our students.”
