FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – At 6:23 p.m. Tuesday, the city’s police department and fire rescue squad were dispatched to the area of W. Follett Street and N. Main Street for a single vehicle crash. Police say the vehicle struck landscaping bricks and came to a rest sitting on top of a cluster of bushes.
Inside the vehicle was a 33-year-old female “slumped over and unresponsive” along with a 3-year-old child. Crews extricated the woman and performed life-saving efforts before transporting her to SSM Health – St. Agnes Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Paramedics examined the child and noted no injures from the crash.
Detectives with the FDLPD are actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances that led up to the crash. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of her death. The woman’s identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.
