Calumet CO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A growing number of complaints in Calumet County regarding vehicles passing school buses is leading to more patrols.
According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, reports have been especially prevalent around State Highway 57 and County Highway G south of Chilton. As a result, patrols will be ramped up in that area, along with other areas, to enforce school bus passing laws.
“Our kids rely on all of us to ensure their journey to and from school is safe. When you see those flashing red lights on a school bus it means kids are getting on or off. Please, let’s hit the brakes, put safety first, and give them the space they need. Let’s pledge to be vigilant, patient, and responsible on the roads. Let’s make sure every child’s journey to school is a safe one.”
