The Milwaukee Bucks have gone 1-4 since Doc Rivers took over for Adrian Griffin as Head Coach but all five of those games were on the road. The Bucks finally came off the 10 day trip but it’s now 1-5 as the struggle continued against the Western Conference leading Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night at Fiserv Forum. The T-Wolves easily dispatched the shorthanded Bucks 129-105. Anthony Edwards led the visitors with 26 points. Milwaukee played again without Damian Lillard who missed the last two games on the trip with a sore ankle. Khris Middleton suffered a rolled ankle early in the road trip finale and he also wasn’t available. Giannis Antetokounmpo was held to 17 points and sat most of the second half as Minnesota built a big lead and coasted to the win. Jae Crowder put up 21 but the the Bucks were led by backup guard A.J. Green who dialed up a career high 27 points, hitting 7 of 8 three point shots. The Bucks dip to 33-19 and turn right around to host the Charlotte Hornets Friday night. The NBA trade deadline arrived Thursday night and Bucks General Manager Jon Horst pulled off two deals. The first sent backup guard Cameron Payne and a 2027 2nd round draft choice to the Philadelphia 76ers for guard Patrick Beverley. Beverley played under Rivers in Philly. The second deal moved Robin Lopez to Sacramento for cash and future pick considerations.
