OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — UW-Oshkosh students are shopping for free in the Reeve Memorial Union concourse on Tuesday and Wednesday.
UWO’s Clash Collective Pop-Up Thrift Shop returns for the second time; as the semester gets underway.
Items were previously donated by students and the community. Donation stations were in residence halls and the Student Involvement Desk inside Reeve Union.
The shop allows students to take five items each day. The shop was open on Tuesday and will re-open again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“So many students have been so appreciative,” said Stacy Dreweck, manager of New Student and Family Programs. “Some people have said things like ‘Oh, I wasn’t able to get a jacket this year, it just wasn’t in the budget,’ but now they can do that. They can spread their limited budget a little bit further.”
This year the shop features over 4,000 items, and includes things like clothes, jackets, CD’s, books, kitchen appliances and dishes, and more.
Items left over from the thrift shop will then go to a similar event being held on UWO’s Fox Cities Campus next week. Items left over after that will be donated to other Fox Valley locations that give away items for free.
