A career game from Natalie McNeal wasn’t enough as the Green Bay Phoenix lost their grip on the Horizon League lead with a month to go in the regular season, falling at Cleveland State Saturday 86-63. McNeal poured in 30 points for the Phoenix but the Vikings took control late, outscoring GB 28-12 in the final quarter to move to the top of the conference standings at 11-2, they are 20-4 overall. Green Bay is just a half game back at 10-2 in Horizon play, 17-5 overall. The two teams split in the regular season so Green Bay still has a shot at securing the conference tournament’s top seed based on tiebreakers at the end of the Horizon League’s regular season. The Phoenix return home to face Northern Kentucky at the Kress Center on Thursday night.
