MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – A Madison man pleaded guilty to charges of making threats and stalking for trying to extort women he met online to send him nude photos of themselves.
30-year-old Brett Beckwith reached a plea deal Monday, and several other charges were dismissed as part of that agreement.
Beckwith told Stoughton police in October that he used aliases to communicate with women through Facebook and the dating app Tinder to get nude photos.
A criminal complaint says 4 women told police they gave him photos under false pretenses. They said they were “tortured” into giving him more because he threatened to send initial photos to friends, family and employers.
Beckwith is free on a signature bond.
