GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A child care center on Green Bay’s east side has lost its license after officials found more than half a dozen violations, including the sale of illegal drugs on the premises.
Online records show the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) on Thursday revoked the license of Green Bay Academy, located at 2280 Finger Road. Of the seven violations cited, two involved drugs.
On January 3, 2024, an employee sold illegal drugs (Fentanyl) on the premise of the child care center. The employee had the drugs inside the child care center. The presence of illegal drugs and drug activity during the hours of operation, while children are in care, put the children’s lives in serious danger.
The facility did not report to the department within 24 hours that a staff member was arrested for selling illegal drugs on the premise of the child care center on 1/4/24.
Other violations cited in the license revocation involve staff-to-child ratios, group sizes and mixed-age groups.
According to DCF, Green Bay Academy served children between 6 weeks and 13 years of age. Records show two dozen violations documented between June 20, 2023 and Jan. 25, 2024. Three of those are filed as “Prohibited Actions – Cruel, Aversive, Frightening, Humiliating Actions.”
