MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – Wisconsin senators will hear what people think Tuesday afternoon about three gun-related bills the Assembly approved in June.
The measures are up for public hearings by the Senate Judiciary panel.
One bill would create mandatory prison sentences for those who violate bans on firearm possession after they’re convicted of violent felonies.
The other bills expand the types of people eligible to carry concealed weapons — including Wisconsinites who served in law enforcement outside the state, and non-resident active military members who’ve been stationed in the Badger State at least a year.
Also, the Senate committee will hear comments on a bill to exempt people from civil liability if they bust into vehicles to save people or pets.
