MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) — A new housing project could be coming to the City of Manitowoc; but first the developer wants to hear from you.
Developer S.C. Swiderski out of Mosinee, Wisconsin is looking at potential housing options for three acres of property in the River Point District, that used to be a railroad site, near downtown Manitowoc. But first, they want input from residents and business owners.
“They’re trying to gauge the need and the interest in a project such as theirs, and they’ll take that information to help inform the scale of development that they would be looking to do,” said Adam Tegen, Community Development Director for the City of Manitowoc.
A survey is their first step towards development.
“They have their due diligence period through 2024,” said Tegen. “So they would potentially close on the property in 2025, and then its a matter of their timing for construction.”
