The Major League Baseball deadline for players and teams to exchange offers before arbitration hearings was Thursday night and the Milwaukee Brewers were able to secure contracts for several key players. Most notably, star pitcher Corbin Burnes who will return next season on a one year contract worth a reported 15.6 million dollars. Shortstop Willy Adames avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one year deal that will pay him 12.25 million in 2024. Relief pitcher Devin Williams signed a one year deal with a club option for 2025. The All-Star closer will get 7.25 million in 2024 and could earn up to 10.5 million in 2025. The Brewers also reached deals with relief pitchers Joel Payamps and Bryse Wilson. Milwaukee also agreed to terms with former New York Yankees infielder Jake Bauers who is expected to compete for a job at first base this spring.
