TOWNSHIP OF FOREST, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A collision between a freightliner and a John Deere tractor in Fond du Lac County Wednesday left two men injured, one seriously.
At approximately 9 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash along State Highway 23 west of County Road W in the township of Forest.
Preliminary information reveals a 2020 freightliner pulling a semi-trailer was traveling westbound on State Highway 23 when it hit a a John Deere tractor.
The collision caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles. Both vehicles traveled into the north ditch along State Highway 23. The semi unit came to rest in a marshy area. The John Deere tractor came to rest in the north ditch.
The driver of the freightliner, a 53-year-old man from Baraboo, was transported to a Neenah hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor, a 62-year-old man from Mount Calvary, was taken to a hospital in Fond du lac with non-life-threatening injuries.
Their names have not been released. An investigation into the crash is underway by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
