MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court denies a request to directly hear a lawsuit challenging school choice in the state.
The justices on Wednesday offered no comment as they rejected the petition by Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad’s SuperPAC.
The suit, filed on behalf of parents, grandparents and “concerned citizens,” claimed the voucher program violates the Wisconsin Constitution by diverting funds from public education. It also sought to challenge the state’s funding system for public schools.
Bangstad said the petitioners will pursue the lawsuit through circuit court.
