Kaitlyn Michaels (Brown Co. Jail)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An office administrator who used her employer’s business records to access customers’ credit card information to make purchases for her own benefit has been convicted.
Kaitlyn Michaels, 34, of Green Bay, pleaded no contest Monday to 16 charges, including 15 of misappropriating identification information. Fourteen other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 12, court records show.
The case was charged in October 2020. Since then, four trial dates were set and canceled, Michaels changed attorneys twice, and there were other delays.
According to the criminal complaint, Michaels used a program called “Coolfront,” which tracked customer information and service calls. Michaels used the information from at least 29 customers to make purchases totaling about $1,928.
She also forged a signature on checks on the business account for personal use, resulting in a company loss of more than $1,000, the complaint states.
The business was not named in the criminal complaint.
Michaels was also convicted of misappropriating identification in Kewaunee County. She was sentenced to two months in jail, and placed on probation for 18 months in that case.
