GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An autopsy has been completed for the man killed over the weekend on Western Avenue.
Police say the results of the Monday autopsy on the 30-year-old Green Bay man are being withheld from the public while the investigation continues.
The man’s family has requested that his name not be released, police also said.
Owen Backus, 45, is being held in the Brown County Jail on a $1 million cash bond. Backus appeared in court Monday after prosecutors filed a probable cause statement. That document remained sealed at prosecutors’ request.
Backus has not been formally charged with any crime in the case.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of Western Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday night for a report of a disturbance involving two people. The victim was found dead inside the home.
In a Monday morning news conference, police said Backus was the only suspect and the public is not in danger.
