GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One person was killed in an industrial incident Tuesday at a pallet-making company.
Crews were called to Konz Wood Products, located at 616 N. Perkins St., at about 3:30 a.m., according to Grand Chute Fire Dept. Asst. Chief Matthew Kasriel.
An official with the Outagamie County Coroner’s Office confirmed to FOX 11 the incident was fatal and said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. More information will be released once the victim’s family has been notified, the official said.
FOX 11 reached out to OSHA, which provided the following statement:
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) opened an inspection with Konz Wood Products today. OSHA has six months to complete its investigation, issue citations and propose monetary penalties, if violation of workplace safety and health regulations are found during the investigation.
