MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Three teenagers were detained Monday in connection to a robbery at a Manitowoc gas station that involved replica firearms.
According to a news release, the Manitowoc Police Department was dispatched to Popp’s University BP at 2705 S. 10th Street for an armed robbery in progress at approximately 1:15 p.m.
Officers responded immediately and the two suspects fled the store. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle, traveling within the city of Manitowoc. A traffic stop was conducted and a 16-year-old juvenile was detained in connection with this incident. A short time later, additional suspects, a 14-year-old, and a 15-year-old, were identified and detained at Lincoln High School.
Authorities said “facsimile firearms” were located and the stolen property was recovered.
The Department of Human Services arranged for the three juvenile suspects to be transported to Sheboygan Juvenile Detention Center, where they are each being held on one count of party to the crime of armed robbery.
