GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Green Bay Packers and the Salvation Army of Brown County have teamed up once again to make a difference for people in need this holiday season.
Kenny Clark, Elgton Jenkins, Isaiah McDuffie and Jonathan Owens were the featured players at Monday evening’s autograph event inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.
It marked the first of three scheduled sessions where Packers swap autographs for monetary donations. Fans were asked to give a minimum of $50 in an effort to assist the Salvation Army in reaching its 2023 donation goals.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is an important holiday tradition in the Green Bay community, as many of the organization’s programs operate only because of the money received through Red Kettle donations. All proceeds raised go toward aiding needy families, seniors and the homeless in Green Bay.
The remaining two autograph events are scheduled for Dec. 4 and Dec. 18, both at 5 p.m. Names of players who will participate in those signings have not yet been released.
$1.4 million is the goal for the Salvation Army’s 2023 holiday campaign. It’s slightly above last year’s goal because the organization is seeing a greater need for its services.
