(WTAQ-WLUK) — A Waukesha man is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking charges.
According to a news release, Cornelius Jackson, 34, was convicted on four counts of Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud or Coercion, along with Conspiracy to Engage in Sex Trafficking.
Evidence presented at trial stated that from 2014 to 2020, Jackson “used force, threats of force, fraud and coercion to compel female victims to engage in commercial sex acts in cities and states across the country.”
Officials say the acts took place in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Ohio.
The evidence showed that Jackson recruited his victims through dating apps and social media. The victims all testified that Jackson kept and controlled all of the money they made, using violence to ensure they all continued to comply with his demands. The victims testified that Jackson strangled them and that they each saw him strangle other female victims.
Jackson will spend at least 15 years in prison, but could receive a life sentence. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
