OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — There’s a warning on a package delivery scam in Oshkosh.
Law enforcement says someone alerted them to a text message they received from what appeared to be the United States Postal Service.
The message said a package arrived for the recipient of the text, but it couldn’t be delivered due to incomplete address information. The text had a supposed link and a QR from the post office, and the victim was told to scan the QR code or click the link to confirm an address.
The scan or click would lead to a request for credit card information to pay a ‘minimal fee’ to have the package delivered.
The post office says they would never send a message like this.
