MADISON, Wis. (WSAU-Wheeler News) — Work could start as soon as next year on improvements to the stores which line Madison’s busy State Street.
The city is working on a 400-thousand dollar grant program which would be aimed at encouraging property owners and tenants running retail businesses by offering matching grants worth up to 50-thousand dollars. The Madison City Council gave its approval to the program’s framework this fall.
It could vote on a Tax Increment Financing district at its Tuesday meeting.
