MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers postseason run ended Saturday night with a 5-1 loss to the Dodgers in Game 7 of the National League Championship series.
The Dodgers advance to the World Series to play the Red Sox. The Brewers, who led the Nation League in wins, saw their season come to an end.
The big blow in the game came in the 6th inning when LA’s Yasiel Puig hit a 3-run 2-out home run to left center. At the time the Dodgers had a 1-run lead.
The Brewers appeared to have the game tied in the 5th inning, but a diving catch by Chris Taylor on the warning track of a blast from Christian Yelich ended the inning with a man on second.
The Brewers failed to generate scoring chances in the late innings; they were retired in order in the 8th and 9th.
The Brewers had a brief 1-run lead on Yellich’s home run in the first inning.
Yellich, the likely NL MVP, hit only .194 in the postseason.
