TOMAH, WI (WTAQ) – The Tomah Veterans’ Administration hospital continues to face the fallout from overprescribing opiates to patients and having a retaliatory work environment, but it also faces more serious allegations.
Tomah VA officials confirm a nurse assistant was cited for disorderly conduct through a police investigation.
Former VA employee and whistleblower Ryan Honl posted a letter he received to his Facebook page.
The letter from an anonymous source alleges abuse by a nurse’s assistant at the VA. The writer claims the assistant was seen pushing a patient several times.
They also wrote there have been other incidents of abuse, but cannot share the information out of fear of retaliation.
Officials said the nurse assistant has been removed from patient care duties while the administration investigates.
