MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The pilot killed when his plane crashed into a Manitowoc County pond Wednesday has been identified as a Texas man.
Sheriff’s officials say Steven Walker, 57, of Keller, Texas, died in the crash near Rockwood Road, north of Manitowoc.
No one else was in the plane.
The two-seater Lancair 320 was reported missing on Wednesday night, when the Chicago air traffic control center told the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office that the low-wing aircraft had not arrived at an undisclosed location.
The wreckage was discovered Thursday morning on private property.
No details about where the plane was going to or coming from has been released.
