TOWN OF CHESTER, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Two people died and five others were injured after a box truck was reportedly driving the wrong way on a Dodge County highway.
It happened around 2:47 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 151 near State Highway 49 in the town of Chester.
Dispatch says they received several 911 calls in reference to a white box truck traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic on U.S. Highway 151.
A short time later, it was reported to dispatch that the box truck crashed into a northbound Kia car. A Chevrolet car that was also traveling northbound was subsequently struck by the Kia car.
The driver of the Kia car, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Kia car, a 28-year-old woman, was also pronounced deceased at the scene. The two other passengers in the Kia car were taken to the hospital with injuries.
The driver of the Chevy car and its two passengers were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver and lone occupant of the box truck is a 69-year-old man from Pennsylvania.
