MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Marinette Co., according to the sheriff’s dept.
Robert Perry, 22, of Amberg, was traveling west on Perch Lake Road near Nelson Road in Athelstane. He failed to negotiate the corner, struck an embankment, and went airborne into trees. Perry, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed. The crash was at 8:53 a.m.
Excessive speed and not properly negotiating the corner were factors in the crash, according to the release from Sheriff Randy Miller.
It was the county’s fifth fatal traffic crash of 2023.
