NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is hosting a public involvement meeting to discuss upcoming construction projects on U.S. Highway 45 and State Highway 54 that will impact Waupaca and Outagamie counties.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in New London on Oct. 24 at the Community/Senior Center, located inside the Washington Center at 600 W. Washington Street.
After a brief presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m., citizens will have the opportunity to ask questions at an open house.
Following the meeting, the public can also visit the project website to review a map of the work area and submit digital comments.
Construction is set to begin in 2026.
Work proposed for the Highway 45 project includes:
- Replacing the pavement
- Upgrading the guardrail
- Completing curb and gutter replacements as needed
Work proposed for the State Highway 54 project includes:
- Replacing the pavement
- Installing new traffic signal infrastructure at the WIS 54 and County D intersection
- Upgrading curb ramps to ADA standards at the WIS 54 and County D intersection
- Repairing and replacing storm sewer as needed
- Replacing curb and gutter as needed
