GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A correctional officer was injured after being assaulted by an inmate at the Brown County Jail last week.
Officials say an inmate physically attacked a Brown County Correctional Officer shortly after 6 a.m. on Oct. 12.
Jail staff immediately responded and were able to subdue the inmate and get him restrained without further incident.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was released later that same morning.
The inmate remains in the custody of the Brown County Jail.
The incident is currently under investigation. Once complete, authorities say they will release the name of the suspect along with the referred charges.
