GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is laying off nine people.
A UWGB spokesperson confirmed the layoffs Monday, saying only that they were staff positions, not faculty.
The university said affected employees may be able to move into other positions if they become open.
The layoffs come as other colleges in Northeast Wisconsin are also seeing job losses. UW-Oshkosh is laying off more than 200 positions and requiring furloughs to help address an $18 million budget deficit. St. Norbert College announced 41 layoffs last month, citing declining enrollment.
