Work continues on the new Appleton Public Library, September 2023. PC: Fox 11 Online
APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Demolition work continues, as the remodeling of Appleton’s library progresses.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the $40 million project was held in late July. The building, at 225 North Oneida Street, is expected to be ready in early 2025.
According to the library, progress from the last month includes:
- Lower-level demolition complete. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing demolition is taking place.
- Ground level wall demolition complete. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection demolition complete.
- Upper-level mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection complete. Concrete masonry unit wall demolition has begun.
- Building permit has been obtained.
The library is currently operating out of a temporary facility on the east side.
