TOWN OF NEW HOLSTEIN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A New Holstein High School student died and two other teens were injured in a crash at a Calumet County intersection.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Foundry Road and Plymouth Trail in the town of New Holstein.
Officials say a Chrysler sedan with two occupants was traveling eastbound on Foundry Road when it struck a Buick sedan, with one occupant, that was traveling southbound on Plymouth Trail. Both vehicles left the roadway entering the ditch.
The driver of the Chrysler sedan, a 16-year-old girl from the town of New Holstein, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The passenger of the Chrysler sedan, a 16-year-old boy from the town of New Holstein, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Buick sedan, a 16-year-old boy from the city of New Holstein, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Counselors are present at the New Holstein School District to assist students, families, and staff during this difficult time.
The crash remains under investigation.
