BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting an aerial enforcement over Brown County on I-43 on Thursday, weather permitting.
During an aerial traffic enforcement, pilots with the State Patrol’s Air Support Unit watch for traffic violations, such as speeding or aggressive driving.
When a pilot sees a violation, they communicate with State Patrol officers on the ground, who then initiate a traffic stop.
The State Patrol says its primary goal of aerial enforcement missions is voluntary compliance with traffic laws, not pulling over or citing drivers, which is why the missions are often announced publicly.
