REEDSVILLE, WI (WTAQ) — The Reedsville School District is offering students support after a 17 year old senior passed away in a car accident Sunday morning.
The accident resulted in the death of a 21 year old Menasha woman and also Reedsville student 17 year old Keegan Grimm.
“Keegan left her mark on many people here in our school and in our community. She was a phenomenal person,” said Reedsville superintendent, Michael Nate. ” She had a fiery attitude, and was very involved in our schools. She was a three sport athlete, and also a youth apprentice student.”
Beginning on Monday, counselors from other local school districts are joining the Reedsville Crisis Team. They have been made available to students struggling with this loss.
“The first hour today was really busy,” said Nate. “Our kids needed a place to hang out so our library has been made into a makeshift counseling area.”
As a result of this news, several events have been canceled or postponed. All extracurricular competitions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday have been canceled. Additionally, all events surrounding homecoming, including dress-up days, class activities, and the dance on Saturday have been postponed. The 7th grade camp on Tuesday and Wednesday has been postponed, and athletic team pictures scheduled for Wednesday will be rescheduled.
