NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 37-year-old man has died from his injuries following an officer-involved shooting at a Neenah gas station.
According to a press release from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit attempted to take the man into custody as a result of warrants for his arrest. They confronted him inside a Mobil gas station on S. Commercial St.
The preliminary investigation suggests the man displayed a weapon.
The subject was then transported to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah where he died from his injuries.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has been requested to lead the investigation.
The Winnebago Area MEG is comprised of agencies within Outagamie, Winnebago, Fond du Lac, and Calumet Counties along with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing. There is no threat to the community at this time.
