OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were taken into custody following a grass fire in Oconto.
Around 6:41 p.m. Monday, firefighters and the DNR were called to an area near the museum at Copper Culture State Park.
When crews arrived on scene, fire was burning in the field southwest of the museum and parking lot, about 100 yards west of the trail. An Oconto police officer was using a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
About .06 acres of field was burned before the fire was fully extinguished.
One person was assessed by medical crews and released on scene. There were no emergency responder injuries.
Details on how the fire started were not made available.
