MADISON, Wis. (July 13, 2023) — The Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) board of directors unanimously reelects Janet Clark as Board Chair at its annual election meeting. Clark is a second-generation dairy farmer from Rosendale representing District 16 (Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Marquette counties). She, along with the elected Executive Committee, will lead the organization through the next fiscal year, which began July 1 and will conclude June 30, 2024.
“I’m honored to continue serving the state’s dairy farmers as board chair,” said Clark, Board Chair, DFW Board of Directors. “This year, I’m excited also to represent Wisconsin within the United Dairy Industry Association and join other dairy state representatives in the national mission to increase demand for dairy.”
DFW Board Chair, Clark, was appointed as DFW’s United Dairy Industry Association (UDIA) Board of Directors Seat. UDIA is a federation of state and regional dairy producer-funded promotion organizations that provides marketing programs developed and implemented in coordination with its members. Its board is comprised of dairy farmers elected by the respective boards of their member organizations.

DFW board members elected to serve on the Executive Committee with Clark include Gail Klinkner, (Viroqua, District 21) as Vice-Chair; Sandy Madland (Lyndon Station, District 15) as Secretary; and Mark Crave, (Watertown, District 19) as Treasurer. Also elected to serve on the seven-person Executive Committee are Rick Roden, (West Bend, District 18) Chair, Communications Committee; David Bangart, (Greenwood, District 7) Chair, Channel Management Committee; and Kay Zwald, (Hammond, District 5) Chair, Policy/Bylaw Committee. Additionally, the Board selected Jeff Betley (Pulaski, District 9) to serve as Chair of the Center for Dairy Research Liaison Committee. DFW continues to support the efforts of the internationally recognized dairy research center through funding, research, collaboration and technical support.
The board welcomes two new directors Andrew Christenson (Amery, District 4) and Kristen Metcalf, (Milton, District 25).
The DFW Board of Directors is comprised of 25 dairy farmers who are elected by their peers for three-year terms. DFW’s directors lead dairy marketing and promotion efforts, set policies and procedures, supervise business affairs and approve annual budgets on behalf of Wisconsin dairy farmers.
