GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Incoming students at the Medical College of Wisconsin – Green Bay are truly looking the part as they embark upon a new learning journey and begin their medical studies. The 25 medical students received their white lab coats Tuesday afternoon.
During a formal ceremony, the students received their coats from physicians with trust in the respective student’s ability and dedication to practicing medicine. For Abigail Swenson, that person was her father.
“I wasn’t expecting to be emotional, but I was a little emotional,” admitted Swenson. “But it was really exciting and just seeing everyone get their white coats — and worked so hard to do this and finally get that moment was really exciting and a big deal for a lot of people.”
Now that they’ve donned their coats and recited a physician’s oath, the students are ready to begin their studies.
