APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The start of a long-anticipated project will break ground next month in Appleton.
The Appleton Public Library’s public groundbreaking ceremony for its new building at 225 North Oneida Street is set for Tuesday, July 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Members of the community can enjoy speakers, music public art, touch a truck and more.
After the original construction bids for the new library came in more than $14 million over budget last year, city council went back to the drawing board to scale back.
Earlier this month, city council approved the new $40.4 million bid.
