Edward Curtis
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man whose arrest led the Green Bay Police Department to publicly address the use of force during the apprehension was sentenced to two years in prison.
Edward Curtis, 24, was also placed on extended supervision for three years after being convicted of receiving stolen property, court records show.
Curtis was arrested May 9. A few days later, Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis addressed the arrest. He said Curtis struggled with officers, and even tried to run away at one point, when they were trying to take him into custody. Davis says that is why his officers had to use force, and used video to explain officers’ decisions.
