The last WIAA State Champions of the High School year were crowned on Saturday at the Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee with the girls soccer tournament.
Muskego, after defeating Bay Port 4-0 in the semifinals on Friday, captured the Division 1 championship with a 3 t0 1 victory over Kettle Moriane. It’s Muskego’s second straight championship and third since 2019. In Division 2, Whitefish Bay, making it’s record extending 23rd appearance at state, won the title for the 9th time in school history with a 2-1 victory over Oregon. In Division 3, Plymouth became a first time champ with a 2-1 win over Edgewood. After a scoreless first half, Melina Knowles and Sarah Welsch tallied for the Panthers which capped it’s title season with a 21-1-2 record. In Division 4, Kiel outlasted Cedar Grove-Belgium 6-5 in overtime. Taylor Schad scored four goals for the Raiders and it was Taavi Saeger netting the game winner in OT to deliver the first state title in school history for Kiel.
