(WTAQ-WLUK) — Several Northeast Wisconsin counties are experiencing air quality that could be unhealthy for certain groups of people.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said the quality index was expected to reach the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” level on Thursday afternoon. Those groups include people with lung disease, children, older adults and people who are active outdoors. These people should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion, according to the DNR.
The advisory is in effect throughout the rest of Thursday.
The following Northeast Wisconsin counties are impacted by the advisory: Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Outagamie, Waupaca and Winnebago.
Other counties across Wisconsin include: Adams, Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Marathon, Marquette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Portage, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Walworth, Washington, Waukesha, Waushara and Wood.
