WASHINGTON ISLAND, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Door County School District says it’s investigating after a graduating class of 2022 picture was used as target practice at an area firing range.
The Washington Island School District says it is taking the matter seriously and is working with the school resource officer and local law enforcement.
The safety and security of our students and school is our first priority as educators, and we will continue to do what is possible to minimize risk. We plan and conduct safety drills at school to ensure our students know we have plans to keep them safe and to practice how we respond to emergencies. We write and follow safety policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of our school’s security, and we will continue to responsibly respond to risks and threats to the safety of our students, staff and school.
