RIPON, WI (WTAQWLUK) — The 14th president of Ripon College, and the first woman to hold the position in the school’s 172-year history, was officially inaugurated on Saturday.
Victoria Folse started at the college on July 1, 2022.
She has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, having previously served as the director and endowed chair of the School of Nursing at Illinois Wesleyan University and executive director of Counseling and Health Services.
At Saturday’s inauguration, Folse outlined her plans to keep the school relevant in a changing higher education landscape.
“While we celebrate all that we have accomplished, it is an ideal time to rethink our priorities, and implement strategies to achieve all that is possible,” Folse said. “It is through an appreciation of the College’s history that the importance of this moment in time is best understood.
Ripon College says more than 400 people attended the ceremony.
