APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police used a Taser to subdue a knife-wielding male while responding to a domestic violence call in Appleton.
Officers say they were called to an apartment in the 1500 block of E. Longview Drive early Monday morning. The caller reported that a male, who was the subject of a no-contact order, had broken in to her apartment. The male threatened the victim, saying he was going to get something from his vehicle and return.
When police arrived, they found the male outside the building. He had a knife, which he was holding against himself. Officers negotiated with the man until he eventually ran into the building. He was stopped by several officers in the hallway.
Police used a Taser to disarm him before arresting him. Officers treated the man for self-inflicted knife cuts. He was eventually jailed on potential felony charges.
The male’s name was not released.
