OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A preliminary hearing will be held April 17 for a man accused of killing his parents.
Erik Metzig faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the March 18 deaths of David and Jan Metzig.
A status conference was held Monday, when the new date for the preliminary hearing was set.
Police were called to the home around 5:15 a.m., where the dead couple was discovered. Police found the bodies in the bedroom, covered in blankets, with apparent gunshot wounds to the head, the complaint states.
According to their obituary, David and Jan Metzig were third-generation owners of Union Star Cheese Factory near Fremont.
